EirGrid Interconnector Limited (EIL) own and operate the East West Interconnector (EWIC).

EIL require the services of a licensed and accredited security company to provide 24 hour, 7 day a week and 365 day a year remote security monitoring and management services. These services are required for three sites;

1) the EWIC converter station at Woodland, Co. Meath, Ireland;

2) the EWIC converter station at Shotton, Flintshire, UK and;

3) the EWIC marine spares storage facility at Liverpool Docks, UK.

The Centre for Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) recommends that a Remote Monitoring Centre (RMC) operates the security systems and manages procedural security measures at such sites.

This contract will be awarded for a period of 5 years.
