Coillte are seeking expressions of interest for the provision of General Forestry Maintenance contract services in 2012. This will consist of two types of contracts:

Contract A - Maintenance of Forests.

This contract will include the following operations; road repairs and maintenance, fence and drainage repair, hedge trimming, litter collection, fire-lines, supply and erect entrance barriers, chainsaw operations, fire fighting and general amenity maintenance. The contractor will supply materials (ex road material), labour and machinery required to complete the contract.

Contract B - Maintenance of Forest Parks.

This contract will include the following operations; maintenance of buildings, toilets, trails and grass-cutting. The contractor will supply materials, labour and machinery required to complete the contract. These sites will include forest parks which are generally located in rural areas.

More detail on the above contracts is provided in the attached Pre-Qualification Questionnaire.

Coillte require suitably qualified contractors with experience in forestry or a similar environment to provide these services. Contractors must be capable of providing all activities listed in the contracts, both manual and mechanical.

Coillte will reserve the right to award the contracts as a whole or as individual parts.

The questionnaire attached should be completed and enclosed in a sealed envelope, marked‘PQQ for General Forestry Maintenance Contracts’ and should be delivered not later than 17:00 HRS on 16.11.2011 for the attention of:

Marie Roche, Coillte, Unit C, Carrigeen Industrial Estate, Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

Forestry services are classified as non-priority services falling under Annex II B of Directive 2004/18/EC. These services are covered by Articles 23 and 35(4) of the Directive only, to the exclusion of the other provisions. Whilst such procurements are not expressly covered by provisions of the Directive, the award procedure will nevertheless being conducted in accordance with the principles of equal treatment and transparency.
